Junior AI Engineer

Overview

This is a genuine junior role: we expect strong fundamentals and high slope, not a finished portfolio of production AI systems. You will join our Berlin AI engineering team with a named mentor, a structured first-year curriculum, and real (reviewed, supported) responsibility on client systems from your first month.

Responsibilities

• Build features on production AI services under senior review
• Write and maintain evaluation suites for LLM-powered features
• Implement data preparation and retrieval pipeline components
• Document systems and contribute to internal knowledge sharing
• Pair regularly with senior engineers across the practice

Requirements

• Degree in computer science or equivalent practical foundation
• Solid programming fundamentals in Python or TypeScript
• Understanding of how LLMs work at a practical level (context, tokens, prompting)
• Personal or academic projects that show genuine curiosity
• Fluent English

Preferred qualifications

• Internship or working-student experience in software engineering
• Coursework in ML/NLP
• German language skills

• A GitHub profile with projects you can talk about in depth
• Experience with cloud platforms
• Hackathon or competition participation

Working model

On-site with our client-facing delivery teams. You will be based in our local office with flexibility for focused work-from-home days when the delivery calendar allows.
